The ASC Nurse Administrator is a member of the operating room team and is responsible for providing a safe and efficient environment for the patient during the pre-, intra- and post-operative phases of the stay. The ASC Nurse Administrator coordinates, facilitates, and manages change efforts in the ASC while managing budgetary responsibilities within his/her role. The ASC Nurse Administrator is responsible to provide direction in coordination with the ASC Pharmacy Consultant. Promotes a favorable image of the facilities to staff, physicians, patients, and the public.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage budgetary responsibilities within his/her role.

  • Mentor and coach others to improve performance and enhance skills.

  • Facilitate communication meetings.

  • Maintain current knowledge of procedures as appropriate to the practice area and provide In-service Education opportunities for new equipment/techniques.

  • Perform quality assurance activities and conduct quarterly QA meetings.

  • Implement Life Safety guidelines and monitors compliance to Life Safety regulations including conducting quarterly fire drills.

  • Maintains personnel files.

  • Oversees inventory of supplies and medications on a monthly basis.

  • Ensures all equipment is in good working order.

  • Monitors vendor performance and reports via the QA process.

  • Have a working knowledge of the company Policies and Procedures.

  • Has a working knowledge of the State and Medicare ASC regulations.

  • Maintains logbooks with current information.

  • Ensures facility environmental standards are met.

  • Perform the duties of a peri-operative staff nurse as defined in the Staff Nurse Job.

  • Maintain high degree of confidentiality and privacy in all work related situations.

  • Function calmly and efficiently in stressful situations.

  • Demonstrate initiative and work independently as needed.

  • Encourages a team-oriented environment and follows company guidelines and policies.

  • Shows respect and deals appropriately with co-workers, patients, and visitors.

  • Performs any and all duties assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Nursing degree (RN) required, BSN preferred.

  • Registered Nurse with current New Mexico license. Minimum 3 years management experience preferred.

  • BCLS ACLS certifications required
